The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has certified and authorized the Ukrainian-made JEDI Shahed Hunter unmanned aerial system for use by the Armed Forces.
According to the ministry, the high-speed interceptor drones in this system are capable of destroying Russian Shahed, Geran, and Gerbera strike drones, as well as Zala and Supercam reconnaissance drones.
The JEDI Shahed Hunter is a vertical takeoff copter with a lightweight, durable frame, four electric motors, and a powerful battery. Weighing just over 4 kg, it can carry up to 500 grams of payload, which is sufficient to engage targets.
The drone can accelerate to over 350 km/h and climb to an altitude of up to 6 km. It automatically receives data from radar stations, allowing it to quickly lock onto a target and destroy it.
The system is equipped with a ground control station, and the drone itself features automatic target acquisition and is equipped with day and thermal imaging cameras, enabling it to operate both day and night.
Based on its specifications, the JEDI Shahed Hunter can protect the sky from enemy drones within a radius of up to 40 km.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that strengthening air defense is one of the key priorities, and the goal is to detect all air threats and intercept at least 95% of missiles and drones.
