10 occupiers will spend 15 years behind bars for crimes against Ukraine
Based on evidence provided by military counterintelligence and investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine, ten members of Russian armed groups were sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. According to the SBU, they fought against the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the eastern front.
“Seven of the convicted individuals are residents of the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Oblast who, at various times, voluntarily joined the 1st, 5th, 100th, 114th, and 132nd motorized rifle brigades of the aggressor country’s army,” the statement reads.
Among them, as the ministry specifies, are riflemen, a flamethrower operator, and a driver who participated in “human wave” assaults on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions near Pokrovsk.
"Two residents of the Luhansk region who signed contracts with the 7th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian forces also received actual prison terms; one of them was assigned as a driver, and the other as a rifleman," the SBU emphasized.
According to the SBU, the traitors fought in the ranks of the occupying forces in the Sievierodonetsk area and built fortifications near Lysychansk. They were later redeployed to the Siverskyi sector to attack units of the Defense Forces, where they were taken prisoner.
Another convicted man, according to the SBU, is a native of Crimea who joined Russian occupation forces and was assigned the position of rifleman in the 72nd Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade. He took part in battles near Svitlodarsk and was later ordered to attack Ukrainian Armed Forces positions near Kostiantynivka, where he was taken prisoner.
The court found all ten traitors guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Parts 1 and 2 of Article 111 (high treason); and Part 7 of Article 111-1 (collaboration).
The investigation was conducted jointly with investigators from the SBU Main Directorate in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
In a Telegram post on Monday, the SBU noted that Ukrainian defenders captured these militants during fighting in the Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, and Siversk sectors.
The SBU caught the deputy head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration accepting kickbacks for road repairs.
Law enforcement agencies are investigating potential losses of 129 million hryvnias during tenders in the energy sector. According to the investigation, company officials may have helped a specific private company win procurement contracts, after which the work was carried out at inflated prices.
The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) exposed a military officer for the clandestine sale of assault rifles, grenades, and a military drone.
