An indictment has been filed against a 41-year-old Kharkiv resident suspected of collaborating with Russian military intelligence. According to the investigation, the woman passed information to the Russians about critical infrastructure sites and the locations of Ukrainian military units, and she hid her phone in a juice carton to track military convoys.

According to the investigation, the Kharkiv woman was recruited via Telegram by a representative of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (GRU). In exchange for monetary compensation, she agreed to carry out his assignments.

In January 2026, acting on her handler’s instructions, the woman went to an electrical substation in Kharkiv and the Zmiiv Thermal Power Plant. Working remotely, she documented fortifications, the layout of structures, CCTV cameras, and the aftermath of previous enemy strikes. The enemy planned to use this data to prepare new attacks.

In addition, the woman organized covert surveillance of the movement of military convoys. Near a railroad station in the Kharkiv district, she attached a cell phone with a power bank to a tree, camouflaging it inside a juice carton. Using special software, Russian intelligence officers remotely controlled the camera and monitored the railroad tracks in real time.

Subsequently, she repeatedly traveled to locations in Kharkiv and the surrounding region based on coordinates provided by her handler, where she documented the locations of Ukrainian military personnel and equipment and sent photo and video reports.

On April 2, law enforcement officers detained the woman in Kharkiv’s Central Park—specifically during a live online broadcast of a second wave of strikes by “Geran-3”-type UAVs on the city’s residential areas. On her handler’s orders, she was to document the aftermath of the attacks, as well as the flights of the strike drones during the follow-up strikes. After receiving the approximate directions of the airstrikes, she was supposed to arrive at designated locations and film online so that the enemy could assess the effectiveness of the strikes and determine the possible positions of Ukrainian air defense systems.

She was notified of the charges against her. Currently, a prosecutor from the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office has approved and submitted to the court an indictment for high treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The defendant is in custody. She faces life imprisonment.

In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of a crime until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court conviction.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained a Russian agent in the Poltava region who was planning the murder of a military unit commander.

Earlier, a female officer of the General Staff was detained for accepting a bribe of 14,000 dollars.

In the Chernihiv region, a detained deserter attempted to offer a bribe of 40,000 hryvnias.

In Kyiv, a scheme to evade mobilization involving a former official was uncovered.

The SBU and the National Police uncovered 12 schemes to evade mobilization in eight regions.
