Zelenskyy promised the Russians retribution for the killings in Kryvyi Rih: “They’re just animals”
In an evening address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the terrorist attack on the shopping center in Kryvyi Rih will not go unanswered.
“A rescue operation is
currently underway in Kryvyi Rih following the strike on the shopping center. All necessary forces have been mobilized. Unfortunately, many people have been injured. The strike was carried out by several Russian drones. It was a targeted, cowardly attack—one after another. So far, 14 people are known to have died. My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than 100 people have been injured. We know that 11 of them are children. Authorities are gathering information about everyone who may have been in that shopping center. This is absolute barbarism on the part of the Russians. They’re nothing but beasts. We will definitely respond,” Zelenskyy said.
He once again emphasized the need to protect people from Russian attacks.
“It’s important that the world doesn’t remain silent about all this. This Russian war must come to an end, and the world must help us achieve that. Thank you to those who stand with Ukraine. We thank everyone who is currently helping people in Kryvyi Rih—right there on the ground—as well as in our other cities and communities. May all those who have perished from Russian terror rest in eternal peace,” the president noted.
As a reminder, 14 people were killed as a result of the Russian strike on a shopping center in Kryvyi Rih.
On August 21, Russian troops attacked Kryvyi Rih’s largest shopping center with a strike drone.
On August 18, the Russian army killed one resident of the Donetsk region and wounded four others.
