The Russian military attacked rescue workers in the Zaporizhzhia region while they were fighting a fire

In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian troops attacked State Emergency Service (SES) rescue workers with a drone while they were extinguishing a fire on the grounds of a forestry district. Four emergency responders were injured in the strike.

According to the State Emergency Service, the enemy launched a drone strike while the firefighters were extinguishing a fire in an open area as part of their official duties.

“While extinguishing a fire in an open area of one of the region’s forest districts, the enemy launched a drone strike against firefighters who were performing their official duties,” the statement reads.

As a result of the attack, four rescue workers suffered acoustic trauma. In addition, two emergency responders sustained minor shrapnel wounds: one to the arm and the other to the neck.

“Doctors provided all the injured with the necessary medical care,” the State Emergency Service noted.

Rescue workers once again emphasize that Russian troops continue to strike even at emergency services that are clearing up the aftermath of shelling and saving the lives of civilians.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
