Drone attacks have paralyzed operations at two more Russian ports on the Sea of Azov
Following the drone attack on Rostov-on-Don, problems arose at the ports of Azov and Taganrog. Their combined cargo throughput is approximately 13 million metric tons per year.
On Sunday night in Rostov-on-Don, a residential building was damaged as a result of a drone attack, after which city authorities declared a state of emergency. A few hours after the strike, Russian Railways announced restrictions on cargo shipments bound for ports on the Sea of Azov.
According to Reuters, the restrictions will remain in effect until August 4 and will apply to the Azov and Taganrog stations. The day before, the Russian Ministry of Transport also banned ships from anchoring near the port of Azov. Grain, coal, and petroleum products are exported abroad through this port.
Earlier, following drone attacks that damaged more than 100 vessels in the Sea of Azov, Russian authorities informed shipping companies that they would no longer accept applications for passage through the Kerch Strait. This has led to a complete halt in grain exports via the Don River, according to industry sources.
Analysts predict that, due to shipping restrictions, Russian grain exports in July could drop by about a third compared to the same period last year. Export volumes are expected to reach their lowest level since 2017.

Russia reported a drone attack on the night of July 25. In the city of Engels in the Saratov region, a fire broke out following reports of a drone threat; it likely originated near a military facility. Russian authorities have not officially reported on the cause of the fire or the possible consequences of the attack.
