In Kyiv, a warehouse manager was sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling military radios

In Kyiv, a communications depot chief was convicted of removing radio stations and other communications equipment from a military unit’s depot and then selling them to pawnshops. The court sentenced the man to 10 years in prison for the unlawful misappropriation of military property.

It was established that the servicemember, abusing his official position, illegally appropriated property registered to the military unit between September 2024 and March 2025.

The defendant took smartphones, tablets, and laptops from the warehouse and then carried them out of the military unit in a backpack.

In this way, he appropriated property worth over 400,000 UAH.

To launder the property, he pawned the devices at pawnshops, entering into 24 contracts and receiving over 175,000 UAH, which he spent at his own discretion.

He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, 2 years of hard labor, and the confiscation of half of his property.

In addition, the court ordered him to pay over 375,000 UAH in compensation for material damage to the military unit.

This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense Affairs in the Central Region.
