A landmine exploded near Koblevo, killing a married couple
On September 12, an anti-landing mine exploded in the Black Sea near Koblevo in the Mykolaiv region. Two people—a married couple who were on a section of the coast that had been closed due to the risk of mines—were killed in the tragedy.
This was reported by Georgy Reshetilov, acting head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.
According to Reshetilov, the explosion occurred during the day in the Black Sea. A 43-year-old man and his 42-year-old wife were killed in the blast. Their 16-year-old daughter was injured and received the necessary medical care. She will continue to receive outpatient treatment.
In addition, another 40-year-old woman was injured in the incident. She was hospitalized in serious condition.
“My sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased, and I wish a speedy recovery to those injured,” Reshetilov wrote.
The head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration separately emphasized that the tragedy occurred in an area where entry was prohibited due to the risk of landmines. That section of the shoreline had been closed off, fenced, and marked with appropriate warning signs.
“Unfortunately, people crossed the barrier,” Reshetilov noted.
He stressed that despite people’s desire to have access to the sea and public demand to open the coastline in Kobleve, such decisions cannot be made until experts confirm that it is safe for people to be in those areas.
“No decision to open the beaches can be made until experts confirm that it is safe to be there. The cost of hasty decisions could be too high, and human lives may be lost,” emphasized the acting head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.
Reshetilov urged residents and vacationers not to ignore barriers and warning signs, not to enter closed sections of the coastline, and not to go into the water in prohibited areas.
Earlier, Russian occupiers attacked a gas station in the Rivne region with drones.
It should be noted that Russian attacks using “Shahed” drones are becoming increasingly terrorist in nature. Throughout the day, the Russians have been deliberately targeting gas stations in Kyiv.
“Ukrnafta” has urged drivers not to remain on the premises of gas stations during an air raid alert. The company asks that drivers leave the gas station as quickly as possible after the alarm sounds and follow the instructions of staff members.
