Chernihiv region faces Christmas under shelling — casualties and damage over one day
Chernihiv region experienced a tragic Christmas due to massive Russian attacks, the head of Chernihiv RMA, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported on Facebook.
Over the past day, two civilians were killed and two others injured as a result of the shelling.
Russian forces targeted energy infrastructure and civilian facilities across the region. In Chernihiv, a strike drone “Geran” hit an enterprise, damaging an administrative building, a garage, cars, and a passenger bus.
Another drone struck a nine-story residential building, causing a fire in an apartment on the sixth floor and damaging parked vehicles. The blast shattered windows in nearby buildings, including a school.
Several “Geran” strikes on critical infrastructure left tens of thousands of residents without electricity. In Chernihiv Raion, a drone hit a gardening community, breaking windows in multiple houses.
In Snovska community, an FPV drone struck an energy facility, cutting power to several settlements.
