A Ukrainian Armed Forces drone flew into the concert area of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum
During a nighttime airstrike by Ukrainian drones, strikes were recorded not only on the territory of the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal (SPT) but also on military facilities in the city of Kronstadt.
A massive fire broke out in the immediate vicinity of the cultural venue of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
In addition, debris and the blast wave damaged civilian infrastructure in one of St. Petersburg’s residential neighborhoods.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially confirmed the strikes on the oil terminal and key military targets in Kronstadt.
Most of the photos and videos posted on social media capture the moments of direct drone strikes and the subsequent massive fire at the oil terminal.
This strategic fuel logistics facility of the occupiers is located approximately 17 kilometers from the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Center, which is the main venue for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Witnesses to the incident reported that after a series of explosions, at least four massive columns of thick black smoke rose above the fuel facility.
At least one Ukrainian drone crashed in the immediate vicinity of the terminal into the waters of the Gulf of Finland.
While Russian air defense forces were repelling an air attack, one of the drones damaged the facade of a high-rise residential building.
The building in question is the “Zhemchuzhny Kaskad” residential complex, located in the Krasnoselsky District of St. Petersburg at 34 Patriots Avenue.
This building is located just two kilometers from the burning oil terminal and 16 kilometers from the main pavilion of the economic forum.
One of the verified flight videos also captured a UAV flying over the well-known local hypermarkets “Lemana Pro” and “Okey” on Partizana Germana Street.
