On the night of June 5, attack drones struck a number of targets in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In Luhansk, a massive fire broke out at an oil depot following the attack; explosions and strikes were also reported in the areas of Donetsk, Vuhlehirsk, and Mariupol.

The strike on the oil depot—in the southern neighborhoods of Luhansk at 60 Rudneva Street—was the most significant event of the night. Video footage circulating online shows the moment a strike UAV hit the target and a massive fire that lit up several areas of the city.

According to OSINT sources, the oil depot supplies fuel to the 41st and 20th Combined Arms Armies of the Russian Armed Forces. In addition, the facility is involved in supplying fuel and lubricant depots in the occupied territories of Donetsk Oblast.

Occupation Telegram channels confirmed the incident, traditionally referring to it as a “fire with smoke” and urging residents to “observe safety measures.” No official comments from Ukrainian authorities had been received at the time of publication.

There was also a commotion in occupied Donetsk—local residents reported explosions in several areas of the city on social media. Details are being clarified.

In occupied Vuhlehirsk (Donetsk region), a substation caught fire following numerous strikes.

In the Mariupol area, at least two strikes were recorded in Sopino—presumably near the “Azovmash” base, where Russian units have long been concentrated. There are also reports of a fire following a strike on the Belosaraiskaya Spit and active air defense operations in the Urzuf area. Details are expected in the morning.

Separately, local residents report a fire on a ship near Mariupol following a strike—this information has not yet been officially confirmed.

The “Luhanska” oil depot is one of the key fuel hubs in the occupied east. The facility stores and distributes diesel fuel and lubricants for heavy equipment, convoys, and generators along the front line stretching from Luhansk to Donetsk regions. Its destruction directly impacts the group’s logistics: fuel must be transported from afar, resulting in significant delays and losses.

Russia may announce another mobilization this fall amid the difficult situation on the Ukrainian front, the failure of the winter-spring offensive, and significant losses. State Duma Deputy Andrei Gurulov made this statement, linking the possible decision to Russia’s military setbacks in the war against Ukraine.

A new mobilization in Russia could harm Moscow, according to intelligence reports.
