Flash speculated that Russia continues to use relay stations in Belarus
Russian troops are likely continuing to use relay stations on Belarusian territory to control attack drones during attacks on Ukraine. This view was expressed by Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, an advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense and a military technology expert.
According to him, on the morning of July 15, a Shahed-type guided jet drone struck a gas station in the city of Malyn. According to Ukrainian radar stations, the drone was moving along the Belarusian border before changing course and reaching its target.
Beskrestnov noted that such a flight path is characteristic of manual control via a built-in camera. At the same time, the distance from the attack site to the border with Russia is about 260 km, which, he said, is too far for a direct radio link to work. Furthermore, there were no other drones in the air at that moment that could have served as relays.

The expert suggested that Russia might be using relay stations on Belarusian territory to launch attacks on western regions of Ukraine. He did not rule out the possibility that such equipment could have been installed without the knowledge of the Belarusian authorities.
“It is very important and crucial for the enemy to attack western Ukraine with ‘Shahed’ drones controlled online, but without repeaters in Belarus, they cannot do so,” Beskrestnov noted.
At the same time, he emphasized that final conclusions regarding the use of relay stations must be drawn by the relevant agencies after a detailed analysis of the circumstances.
As a reminder, Serhiy Beskrestnov (Flash), an advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, explained why, during Russian ballistic missile attacks, the air raid siren sometimes sounds only after the missiles have already arrived. According to him, this is due to the nature of receiving information about launches and the extremely short flight time of the missiles.
On the night of July 15, Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 101 of the 122 drones used by Russian troops to attack the country’s territory. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Starting in the evening of July 14, Russian troops launched strikes on three districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy used drones and artillery; a 53-year-old man was injured as a result of the attacks.
