On August 7, in the Zaporizhzhia region, State Emergency Service bomb disposal experts defused and destroyed a 500-kg Russian FAB-500 aerial bomb that had failed to detonate during the latest round of shelling. The munition posed a serious danger to local residents.

After the strike, the police reported the probable location where the munition had fallen. While surveying the area, State Emergency Service bomb disposal experts discovered the unexploded aerial bomb. It had pierced a water pipe and become lodged in dense clay at a depth of 10 meters.

The operation lasted three days.

After being recovered, the aerial bomb was transported to a specially prepared site and destroyed in accordance with all safety measures.
