Russia destroyed 10 Epicenter shopping centers and caused more than $1 billion in damage
Since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has completely destroyed 10 “Epicenter” shopping centers, and the company’s direct losses have already exceeded $1 billion.
Despite this, the company assures customers that it does not expect widespread shortages of goods or a sharp rise in prices.
The company has lost shopping centers in Mariupol, Chernihiv, Bucha, Nikopol, Kharkiv, Kamensk, Sumy, Kryvyi Rih, and two locations in Kherson. A hypermarket in Melitopol also remains under occupation; a ceramic tile factory and several logistics centers have been destroyed, and another 13 shopping centers have sustained damage.
Following the latest attacks, the company is restructuring its logistics, changing delivery routes, and redistributing inventory among other warehouses.
“Despite the extensive destruction, no general shortage of goods is expected. At the same time, certain items may temporarily be out of stock due to the loss of manufacturers’ and suppliers’ warehouses,” the company noted.
According to Forbes, Russian attacks have recently destroyed or damaged more than 400,000 square meters of warehouse and logistics infrastructure belonging to Ukrainian businesses. Rozetka, Fozzy Group, Nova Poshta, Denka Logistics, and warehouses belonging to Puma, Toyota Ukraine, Liqui Moly, and other companies were also hit.
The company emphasizes that the destruction of its own infrastructure does not automatically mean price increases. As before, the cost of goods is more heavily influenced by exchange rates, global prices for raw materials, and energy costs.
As a reminder, 14 people were killed and another 27 civilians were injured as a result of a nighttime attack by Russian forces on the Kyiv region on August 5, 2026. Rescue workers continue to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and extinguish fires in several districts of the region.
As a result of a Russian strike with guided bombs on Sumy on August 4, two young girls—10-year-old Sofia and 5-year-old Emilia—were killed. The children were in their own home when the Russian attack cut short their lives. Photos of the deceased sisters have appeared online.
