On the afternoon of August 7, gunfire was heard in occupied Yalta, after which eyewitnesses reported a possible attack by maritime drones on the local port. A large fire also broke out near the waterfront.

According to eyewitnesses, a major fire broke out near the waterfront following the gunfire

However, there were initially no reports of an explosion.

“In Yalta, following the gunfire, something is burning intensely near the waterfront, according to our followers. There was no explosion. This may be the result of mobile fire teams’ operations,” the report states.

Prior to this, the occupying authorities in Yalta had warned local residents and tourists about the danger posed by unmanned boats (UBVs).

After the danger was announced, people began to be evacuated from the beaches and waterfronts as a matter of urgency.

Subsequently, the occupying administration announced that an operation to clear an unmanned boat of mines was allegedly underway.

“Attention! An operation to defuse an unmanned boat (UB) is underway in Yalta. We ask all residents and visitors to the city to immediately leave the Primorsky Park area,” the statement from the occupying authorities reads.

Following reports of gunfire and the evacuation, photos and videos of a fire near the port of Yalta began appearing on social media.

At this time, there is no confirmed information regarding the nature of the damage or the cause of the fire. The occupying authorities have not provided any official reports on the consequences of a possible attack by maritime drones.

This was reported by the Telegram channel “Crimean Wind.”
