Over the past day, on 25 January, Russian forces carried out 42 attacks on the territory of Chernihiv Oblast.
This was reported by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Chaus.
In total, 56 explosions were recorded. Communications and infrastructure facilities came under fire.
The heaviest attacks were reported in the border areas of the region. In particular, several strikes were recorded in the town of Semenivka.
Russian occupying forces used Molniya-type drones and FPV drones, targeting both residential neighbourhoods and civilian facilities. As a result of the strikes, private houses, vehicles and power lines were damaged in the town.
Chaus noted that the attacks were mainly directed at areas near the state border, indicating attempts by the enemy to exert pressure on border communities and destroy critical infrastructure.
Emergency services are currently working at the sites to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and restore electricity supply. No fatalities have been reported so far, but local authorities are clarifying information regarding possible injuries.
Earlier, Russian forces attacked a school in the Chernihiv region using Molniya drones.
