Officials from the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the elimination of a 60-year-old Russian citizen accused of planning a “sabotage and terrorist act” on the railroad tracks of the Tyumen Oil Refinery.

The Russian security service claims that the man was allegedly acting on orders from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, assembled a homemade explosive device, and set up a hideout in Tyumen. According to Russian security officials, during an attempt to arrest him on the night of July 19, the man opened fire with an automatic weapon and was killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.

As a reminder, the FSB claimed to have allegedly thwarted attacks by Ukrainian drones on the “Ukrainka” military airfield in the Amur Region and the “Shagol” military airfield in the Chelyabinsk Region. The FSB claims to have detained the perpetrators and accomplices accused of planning the strikes.
