The General Staff has simplified the procedure for returning from the National Guard

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has clarified the updated procedure for the return of service members following unauthorized absence from their units.

Specifically, the procedure has been simplified to make it easier for service members to return to duty after deserting.

This was reported with reference to the General Staff’s Telegram channel.

It is noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have eliminated intermediate links in the processing of documents, specifically the army corps, operational command, branch, etc.

Documents for appointments are now submitted directly from the military unit to the General Staff.

According to the General Staff, these steps are intended to speed up the appointment of military personnel to positions, make the transfer process more transparent, and eliminate manipulation by certain officials aimed at obstructing such transfers.

At the same time, the introduced mechanism for appointment or transfer does not change the conditions for returning to service after temporary discharge. However, the changes are intended to reduce such cases, as the new mechanism offers a more democratic approach to transfers to other units.

However, it is noted that recommendation letters, which are now exclusively electronic, should not be used as a means to transfer from a combat brigade performing tasks on the active front line to a military unit with more comfortable service conditions.

In addition, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is implementing measures to reduce paperwork related to processing materials regarding the transfer of military personnel, with the aim of shortening the time required to make personnel decisions.
