The Security Service of Ukraine shot down two Russian helicopters in the Voronezh region – video

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' unmanned aerial vehicle units destroyed two Russian helicopters—a Mi-28 and a Mi-17—on the ground in Russia's Voronezh Oblast.

This was reported by UAF Unmanned Systems Commander Robert Brovdi on Facebook, where he also posted a video of the strike.

According to him, the drones destroyed the aircraft 150 km from the front line.

“A field airstrip located more than 150 km behind enemy lines, housing four Mi-28 and Mi-17 helicopters that were undergoing refueling and pre-flight technical inspections, was visited by a flock of tiny but freedom-loving Ukrainian UAS ‘birds.’The strike was carried out by pilots from combined crews of the 429th “Achilles” Brigade and the 43rd Airborne Brigade, in a jointly planned operation with Special Forces Unit “A” on April 29 in the Voronezh region, Russian Federation. "The strikes were delivered to the rear central part of the engine compartment, bypassing the main rotor blades. As a result of the strike, at least one helicopter maintenance specialist who was caught in the drone’s line of sight was killed," Madyar said.

On the morning of April 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned systems struck FSB facilities in the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk. The unit’s command and rear deployment points were destroyed.

In addition, Ukrainian “Lyuty” strike drones attacked a petrochemical plant in the city of Sterlitamak, located in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russian Federation.
