North Korea's total casualties in the war against Ukraine have been reported

Casualties among the North Korean contingent fighting on the side of the Russian Federation have reached 7,058, of whom 2,251 were killed and 4,807 were wounded.

This was reported by Dmytro Usov, a representative of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. His statement during the presentation of a report on foreign mercenaries was reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

The total number of military personnel from the DPRK involved in the war against Ukraine is 14,061. Currently, approximately 9,500 fighters are deployed, primarily in the Kursk region. South Korean intelligence specifies that 10,000 of them are regular troops, and 1,000 are engineering units.

North Korean soldiers who returned home in December 2025 are, according to analysts, once again preparing to be sent to the front. In February, foreign media estimated Pyongyang’s losses at 6,000 personnel, but the numbers continue to rise due to intense combat operations. The DPRK’s participation in the conflict on Russia’s side remains a key factor in the escalation and international tensions.

The Coordination Headquarters continues to document cases of foreign citizens being recruited into the Russian army. Ukraine calls on the international community to increase sanctions pressure on regimes aiding the aggressor. Analysis of combat losses indicates a high casualty rate among foreign units on the front lines.

North Korea has established a museum dedicated to the war with Ukraine, which highlights the elimination of Korean mercenaries by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

As a reminder, the Russian Ministry of Culture refused to issue a distribution certificate for the film “Leaving North Korea,” which was scheduled to be released on April 30.

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev made a working visit to North Korea, where talks with the country’s leadership are scheduled.

The state news agency of the aggressor country, TASS, and the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) signed an agreement on strategic cooperation, which provides for the exchange of information and delegations.
