The Hetman called the strikes on Crimea the start of the first phase of the peninsula’s de-occupation
Strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the transportation and fuel-and-energy infrastructure of occupied Crimea, as well as on supply routes, may be part of the first stage of the peninsula’s de-occupation.
This view was expressed in an interview with Channel 24 by Alexei Getman, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war and a retired major. According to him, the current approach to liberating Crimea involves creating conditions under which the Russian forces on the peninsula will gradually lose the ability to conduct combat operations due to the disruption of their logistics.
“Although a ground operation will still have to be carried out,” Getman noted.
He emphasized that one of the key elements of such a scenario is isolating Crimea from supplies coming from Russian territory. According to him, destroying logistics routes should limit the capabilities of Russian troops on the peninsula.
“The Russians have three options left: either flee across the Kerch Bridge, which still stands, or surrender, or simply die, because they have no other way out when they have nothing left to fight with,” the expert stated.
Commenting on statements by Robert Brovdy, commander of the Unmanned Systems Force, regarding the possible de-occupation of Crimea without a conventional assault, Hetman noted that modern counteroffensive operations may take a different form.
“Yes, this is the de-occupation of Crimea. This is a counteroffensive. It just doesn’t look the way we’d like it to,” he said.
According to Hetman, the current actions of the Defense Forces are an example of an asymmetric campaign, the first phase of which is already underway.

As a reminder, explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea on the night of July 26. According to monitoring channels, Simferopol, Feodosia, and Yalta were under attack.
The General Staff confirmed that a Chornomornaftogaz facility in occupied Crimea had been struck.
