After the attacks on Moscow, Girkin criticized the Russian leadership
Former “DPR Defense Minister” Igor Girkin (Strelkov) stated on his Telegram channel that the large-scale airstrike on Moscow was a predictable event and will likely not be the last. He also made harsh remarks directed at the Russian leadership, claiming it was unprepared for the challenges of war.
In his view, this attack demonstrated the impossibility of reliably protecting even the Moscow metropolitan area due to a lack of air defense systems for all facilities, and also confirmed a significant increase in Ukraine’s capabilities.
Girkin noted that thanks to a well-chosen strategy, Ukraine has been working purposefully over the past two years to establish an advantage in drones and achieve parity in missile capabilities. In his assessment, Ukrainian forces are now capable of launching massive strikes every night, having caught up with—and in some cases surpassed—the capabilities of the Russian Federation. The terrorist predicted that Ukraine’s advantage in aerial assets will only grow in the future.
Girkin attributed this situation to the failed strategy of the Russian leadership, which, instead of pursuing real military objectives, has sought to reach a “compromise” and continues to adhere to this line.
Comparing the approaches of both sides, he noted the presence of brains among Ukraine’s leadership and stated their complete absence in the minds of Russian leaders.
