Huliaipole turning into a “grey zone” due to enemy mining
Russian forces are actively mining the city of Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia region in an effort to prevent Ukrainian units from advancing. As a result, a large part of the area has turned into a dangerous “grey zone”. This was reported on air by Serhii Bratchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army.
He уточнив that the occupiers are mining everything — streets and built-up areas of the city — using remote mining methods. “This is being done to stop the movement of our assault units,” Bratchuk said. According to him, Ukrainian forces are also carrying out mining operations in this sector of the front to maintain control of the situation. Due to intensive mining, a significant part of Huliaipole has become a “grey zone”, where any activity is extremely dangerous.
The military spokesperson emphasised that the enemy is being significantly worn down in this direction. “The 5th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation is operating most actively in this sector. Its losses are so heavy that certain units will have to be withdrawn for recovery, as they are completely losing combat effectiveness,” Bratchuk stated.
At the same time, he added that reinforcements from Russia’s 29th and 36th Combined Arms Armies are being observed on this front. “Some units are even being redeployed from the Dnipro River direction to the Huliaipole sector, which the enemy considers promising,” Bratchuk explained.
The situation in Huliaipole remains difficult, but Ukrainian forces continue to hold the defence and maintain control of the “grey zone”, despite Russia’s active attempts to halt their advance.
