The Main Intelligence Directorate has identified more than 5,800 foreign components in Russian weapons

As of August 2026, specialists from the Main Intelligence Directorate had identified 5,816 foreign components in 202 samples of Russian weaponry.

During a special presentation to Ukrainian diplomats, intelligence officers demonstrated Western components found in Russian cruise and ballistic missiles, drones, and armored vehicles.

According to the GUR, Russia continues to obtain components from Europe, Asia, and North America while circumventing international sanctions by using “gray market” schemes and third countries.
