Russia has begun installing anti-drone nets on submarines of the Pacific Fleet
The Russian military has begun equipping submarines of the Pacific Fleet with anti-drone nets on a large scale.
According to satellite images from August 4, at the Rybachy base in Kamchatka—where nuclear and multi-purpose submarines are stationed—such protective structures have already been installed on more than six submarines (in May, there were only two). The facility is located more than 7,200 km from Ukraine.
According to British intelligence assessments, the Russians are resorting to such measures due to Ukraine’s ability to launch attacks from a great distance from the front lines. Similar protective structures over the conning towers of the submarines “Paltus” and “Varshavyanka” were previously observed in Novorossiysk as part of the Black Sea Fleet.
