"If Ukraine burns, so will your Moscow" — Zelenskyy

Ukraine will continue to launch symmetrical retaliatory strikes against the territory of the Russian Federation to protect its cities and compel the aggressor to end the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a meeting with media representatives in Brussels.

According to him, the attacks on the Russian capital are a just retaliation for the terror against the peaceful Ukrainian population.

The head of state emphasized that Ukraine never sought this military conflict, but will not stand idly by if Russian aggression continues.

He stressed that the destruction and fires in Ukrainian cities will inevitably lead to similar consequences directly in the capital of the occupying country.

“We do not want this war and never have—everyone knows this, our partners know this—and we certainly do not want Ukraine to burn because of the enemy, but if Ukraine burns, so will your Moscow. That is why we will emphasize once again that it is time to end the aggression; it is time to end this war,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.

The president separately noted that if Russian dictator Vladimir Putin refuses to cease hostilities, Ukraine will act decisively.

The latest successful airstrike on targets in Moscow was a direct response to the occupiers’ recent attack on Kyiv, specifically on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

Ukrainian forces have demonstrated their ability to overcome the enemy’s dense air defense.

“As you can all see, despite the three rings of air defense surrounding Moscow, we said we would strike them. The response must be strong and just. They struck the Lavra, and during our meeting with journalists at the Lavra, I said quite frankly: we will prepare a response, and you will see it. I think you are seeing it now,” the head of state emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also shared the outcomes of the G7 summit, where international partners clearly expressed their full support for Ukraine’s peace initiatives.

At the same time, world leaders noted that the Kremlin is doing everything possible to avoid giving direct answers regarding a ceasefire. That is precisely why the Ukrainian side insists on comprehensively increasing pressure on Russia.
