People are leaving Zaporizhzhia due to intensified shelling — Regional State Administration
Due to the intensification of Russian shelling in Zaporizhzhia, there has been an exodus of residents. In particular, families with children are leaving the city.
According to him, over the past month, Ukrzaliznytsia evacuated 90 people from Zaporizhzhia to safer regions. “There is an exodus,” he noted.
According to preliminary estimates, there will be about 5% fewer schoolchildren this year than last year.
“Those residents who have the opportunity to wait out enemy attacks in a safer region are definitely choosing to do so. We can see this in the number of children who want to start school on September 1. It’s less than 5%. In other words, there will be 5% fewer schoolchildren than last year. There is a trend; it’s not significant, but we understand why this is happening,” Fedorov added.
According to him, another 80 people were evacuated from frontline communities over the past month.
