The Cabinet of Ministers has introduced payments for killed and captured occupiers

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new system of additional monetary rewards for members of the Defense Forces, aimed at boosting motivation and actively replenishing the bounty fund. A reward of 100,000 UAH will be paid for a live occupier, and 15,000 UAH for a dead one.

According to Government Resolution No. 768 of June 12, 2026, a financial reward of 100,000 hryvnias is established for each enemy servicemember taken prisoner, which, in the event of a group capture, will be distributed proportionally among all participants in the operation.

A separate provision of the new program calls for a payment of 15,000 hryvnias for eliminating enemy personnel during direct firefights or hand-to-hand combat, which pose the greatest risks to the lives of the defenders. A mandatory condition for the payment of these funds is the availability of clear video evidence confirming the elimination of an occupier in close combat. Additional payments will be made based on an official order from the military unit commander, which must be issued by the 5th of the current month for the previous month, and the funds themselves will be disbursed to service members along with their basic pay by the 20th.

This is stated in an official clarification from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine regarding the implementation of the first stage of a large-scale reform of military pay.

Servicemembers of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” and other National Guard brigades have begun receiving monetary compensation for destroyed and captured equipment belonging to the Russian occupation forces

A bill on demobilization and new payments to military personnel has been introduced in the Verkhovna Rada.
