In the temporarily occupied Crimea, a series of explosions occurred on the night of June 30, after which, according to reports from local Telegram channels, a fire broke out at the Saki Thermal Power Plant.

Eyewitnesses are posting footage of thick smoke and flames on social media. There is currently no official information regarding the causes of the explosions or the extent of the damage.

“The Saki Thermal Power Plant, which was attacked, has sustained significant damage. The main building of the plant was completely burned down; one fuel tank was destroyed, and another was damaged,” the report states.

It is noted that no smoke is visible from the chimneys, and the thermal power plant is not operating.

On the night of June 28, the Saki Thermal Power Plant was attacked. Within an hour, 16 explosions accompanied by flashes occurred, and a major fire broke out.

The Saki CHP plant has an electrical capacity of 149.4 MW and a thermal capacity of 138 Gcal/h. The plant is the main producer of thermal energy in Saki.

Power outages are currently in effect in the city of Saki and the Saki District.
