The death toll from the Russian Federation's attack on the Kyiv region on July 24 has risen to 11
A 66-year-old man who sustained severe injuries as a result of a Russian strike on the Kyiv region on July 24 died in the hospital. As of July 27, the death toll from the attack has risen to 11.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the deceased was a Ukrainian citizen and a diplomat of the Order of Malta. Medical staff fought to save his life for several days, but were unable to save him.
Law enforcement officials expressed their condolences to the families and loved ones of all the victims.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy is ongoing. The court is currently determining a pretrial measure for the suspect, the exhibition’s organizer. The prosecutor’s office is insisting that he be held in custody without the right to bail, citing the existing risks.

As a reminder, Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv on the afternoon of July 24, although such attacks usually occur at night. An expert believes this may have been an attempt to wear down Ukraine’s air defense, a show of force, or the result of a technical delay in the missile launch.
On July 24, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Russian forces struck the Kyiv region with three “Iskander-M”/S-400 ballistic missiles from the north. Air defense forces intercepted one missile; the other two struck the Bucha district.
