Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine: Ukraine Will Not Lose Its Advantage After Russia Launches a Starlink-Like System
The Ukrainian Armed Forces will maintain their advantage in satellite communications even after the Russian Federation launches its own counterpart, called “Rassvet.” Major General Oleksandr Pivnenko, Commander of the Ukrainian National Guard, explained that achieving parity in this area is an unrealistic goal for the enemy over the next five years due to the enormous difference in the number of satellites in orbit.
The major general noted that thousands of satellites are used for Starlink to function fully, whereas the Russian system will not be able to provide stable internet access to the entire occupying army on the front lines, remaining available only to the high command.
Earlier, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov also confirmed that Russia is currently unable to find a full-fledged replacement for American technologies, which give the Ukrainian Armed Forces a critical advantage on the battlefield. At the same time, Ukrainian radio technology experts and American businessman Elon Musk continue to work together to counter isolated attempts by the invaders to use Starlink terminals on Russian strike UAVs.
