The Kremlin rejects any adjustments to Trump’s peace plan regarding territories

In Moscow, officials once again expressed disagreement with potential amendments by the American side to the proposed peace agreement with Ukraine, particularly regarding the “territorial issue.”

Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov, as cited by Russian media, stated that the Kremlin has not seen any changes to the documents proposed by the U.S. for ending the war but warned of “very sharp objections” if such amendments appear.

“If there are corresponding amendments, we will have very sharp objections, because we have clearly presented our position, which seemed entirely understandable to the Americans. Regarding many points, there will be provisions absolutely unacceptable to us, including on territorial issues. I think so,” Ushakov said.

He also claimed that “the contribution of Ukrainians and Europeans to these papers is unlikely to be constructive.” Ushakov added that the idea of using a “Korean model” of demarcation was never discussed in Moscow.

In addition, he suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about elections “under pressure from American colleagues,” and in discussing them, he is actually seeking to secure a ceasefire favorable to himself and the Europeans, with the subsequent resumption of hostilities.
