The mother of TV host Tala Kalatay was trapped under the rubble
During a nighttime attack on the capital on July 2, a Russian missile struck the home of the mother of popular TV host and actress Tala Kalatay.
The woman was at home during the shelling and miraculously survived by hiding in the basement, but her home was rendered completely uninhabitable as a result of the enemy strike.
While rescue workers and neighbors were clearing the rubble, Tala Kalatay tried to get any information she could about her mother’s condition.
“I call her and can barely hold back my tears… Mom says, ‘I have water and my documents.’ Mom, do you have anything to eat? Yes, canned zucchini—we’ll get through this… I’m laughing and crying at the same time… She tells me, ‘Go to sleep, everything will be okay.’ Yeah, right… Thousands of kilometers away, like a tiger in a cage, I’m desperately trying to get any information I can from Telegram channels,” the star shared her emotions while searching for news.
Fortunately, neighbors quickly came to the rescue and helped the woman get out from under the rubble while she waited for the rescue team.
Along with the homeowner, they also managed to rescue her pet—a dog that had been trapped under the rubble.
The actress herself emphasized that for her family, the night of July 2 was effectively a second birthday. She decided not to post any photos or videos of the destruction, explaining this by citing her own psychological state following the shock she had experienced.
“We’re recovering. They pulled the dog out from under the rubble. He’s alive. I’ll share more information once it’s been reported by official sources. I’m not posting any videos or photos. I can’t. Physically. It’s truly horrific. My mom’s house is uninhabitable. I think this is her second birthday. I can’t describe it any other way. And she was in the cellar. That saved her life. It’s a complete shock, but your support is invaluable! Thank you for being there for us!” the actress concluded.
The actress shared details of the night’s terrifying events on her Facebook blog, describing her feelings of despair and helplessness while being thousands of kilometers away from her loved one.
