The Ministry of Defense will expedite the delivery of ground-based robotic systems to the front lines

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense is accelerating the delivery of ground-based robotic systems (GRS) to the front lines to carry out logistical tasks and evacuate the wounded.

This was announced by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

According to the minister, GRCs are already being actively used by the military and are performing critically important tasks.

“I held a meeting with GRC manufacturers. The key task is to meet the front’s demand for GRCs and accelerate their delivery to the troops. GRCs perform important logistics and evacuation tasks at the front. In March alone, the military carried out over 9,000 missions. Our goal is for 100% of frontline logistics to be handled by robotic systems,” Fedorov emphasized.

He reported that in the first half of 2026, plans are in place to contract 25,000 ground-based robotic systems, which is twice as many as in all of 2025. According to him, the Defense Procurement Agency has already signed 19 contracts totaling 11 billion UAH.

Fedorov also outlined a series of measures to accelerate deliveries: specifically, allowing contracts to proceed even if costs change, synchronizing funding, speeding up contract signing, and establishing an NRK competence center under the Ministry of Defense.

“In addition, we are changing our approach to planning: as early as this year, manufacturers will have contracts for next year. This will help businesses forecast production and deliver the necessary volumes of products on time,” the minister added.

He also noted that engineering systems for demining, combat platforms, ground-based kamikaze drones, and automated air defense systems are being developed in parallel.

According to Fedorov, scaling up production, standardization, personnel training, and the integration of technologies into combat processes remain among the key challenges.

Over the past 24 hours, 118 combat engagements took place on the front lines; the Russian army has sharply intensified its attacks using aerial bombs, drones, and artillery, with the fiercest fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors.

Journalists have also identified the names of 212,188 Russian soldiers who have died since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine.

Russian troops carried out a massive drone attack on the energy infrastructure of Zhytomyr Oblast, concentrating the strike of approximately 20 drones on a single substation.
