In the Chernihiv region, Russian occupiers set fire to a wheat field and several residential buildings
Over the past 24 hours, on July 17, the Chernihiv region came under attack by enemy drones. Fires broke out in several districts at once, but Ukrainian rescue workers have already extinguished them. According to preliminary reports, there were no fatalities or injuries.
Chernihiv District
Drone strikes caused a fire in a wheat field covering an area of 2 hectares.

“The enemy is destroying our grain, but rescue workers contained the fire, saving the harvest from being completely burned. At other locations in the district, a truck caught fire, as did a farm building on the grounds of a private residence,” according to a statement from the State Emergency Service.
Novhorod-Siverskyi District
In two settlements in the district, fires broke out in residential areas due to UAV attacks.

The fire engulfed residential buildings, but firefighters quickly extinguished all the blazes, preventing the flames from spreading.

As a reminder, on the night of July 18, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine, using seven missiles and 90 attack drones. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed most of the aerial targets, but were unable to prevent some hits.
As a result of a Russian guided airstrike on Izyum in the Kharkiv region on July 17, the number of casualties rose to seven.
On July 17, Russian forces struck a fire and rescue station in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast.
