Nearly 14,000 civilians remain in the Donetsk region in the active combat zone
Approximately 13,600 civilians still reside in communities in the Donetsk region that are located in the zone of active hostilities.
“There are still 13,600 people in the communities classified as being in active combat zones,” the official noted, specifying that this refers to 20 territorial communities.
According to him, there are currently about 130,000 civilians across the entire government-controlled territory of Donetsk Oblast, including more than 7,000 children.
Petlin also reported that since the beginning of July, about 1,700 people, including nearly 330 children, have been evacuated from the region.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, nearly 1.4 million people have been evacuated from the territory of Donetsk Oblast controlled by Ukrainian authorities, including more than 210,800 children.
As a reminder, the mandatory evacuation of civilians in the Donetsk region has been ongoing since August 2, 2022, due to the constant threat to the lives and safety of residents.
This was announced during an online briefing by Dmytro Petlin, head of the Division for Operational Duty, Communications, Alerting, and Public Information at the Department of Civil Protection, Mobilization, and Defense of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.
As a reminder, in the Kharkiv region, the mandatory evacuation zone for civilians is being expanded due to the threat of a deteriorating security situation. The relevant decision was adopted by the Regional Defense Council with the participation of law enforcement officials, rescue workers, military personnel, and district administrations.
In addition, the Kharkiv region plans to implement a mandatory evacuation of children from a number of settlements due to the deteriorating security situation. Local residents are advised not to delay and to leave immediately.
