There were 177 clashes on the front lines, with the most occurring near Pokrovsk
From the start of the day on May 20 through 10:00 p.m., 177 combat engagements were recorded along the front line; in the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 25 enemy attacks.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, three combat clashes have occurred since the start of the day. The enemy carried out two airstrikes, dropped seven guided aerial bombs, and fired 66 times at populated areas and our troops’ positions, four of which involved the use of multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy launched a single assault on our units’ positions near Starytsia.
In the Kupiansk direction, our defenders repelled two enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Kupiansk and Novoosynove.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 11 attempts by the invaders to advance in the areas of the settlements of Drobysheve, Dibrova, Ozerne, Lyman, and Yampil. Two firefights are ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled five attempts by the invaders to advance in the areas of the settlements of Zakytne and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk and Dnipro directions, the enemy did not carry out any active operations today.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the invaders carried out 18 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Ivanopil, Pleshchiivka, Toretsk, and Kucheri Yar. One engagement is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 25 attacks. The invaders attempted to advance in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Hryshyne, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Zatyoshok, Nikanorivka, Shevchenko, Vasylivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Molodetske. Two firefights are ongoing.
According to preliminary estimates, 32 occupiers were killed and 13 wounded in this sector today; one artillery system, two enemy vehicles, and three units of special equipment were destroyed; two enemy vehicles, six artillery pieces, and 72 enemy personnel shelters were damaged. Seven unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were destroyed, and 228 were neutralized.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the occupiers attempted four times to improve their position by attacking in the areas of the settlements of Oleksandrohrad, Ivanivka, and Kalynivske.
In the Huliaipole sector, the occupiers launched 23 attacks toward the settlements of Novozaporizhzhia, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, Staroukrainka, Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Olenokostyantynivka, and Charivne. Four engagements are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy carried out two offensive operations in the areas of the settlements of Shcherbaky and Stepnogorsk.
Ukrainian defense forces managed to advance up to three kilometers into Russian-held territory in the Pokrovsk area of Donetsk Oblast.
On the night of May 19, Russian troops once again attacked the Izmail district of the Odesa region. Port infrastructure facilities in Izmail came under fire.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, more than 20 attacks involving artillery and drones were recorded on May 19, resulting in two people being wounded. The shelling damaged infrastructure facilities, administrative buildings, and private homes in several districts of the region.
On the night of May 19, Russian drones attacked Kharkiv. A fire broke out in one of the city’s districts as a result of the strike. Information regarding possible damage and casualties is being verified.
