Over the past 24 hours, 233 battles took place on the front lines, with the heaviest fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk sector
Over the 24-hour period of July 9, 233 combat engagements took place on the front lines. The heaviest fighting took place in the Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk sectors, where Russian troops continued their active assaults. At the same time, Ukrainian forces inflicted significant losses on the enemy, particularly in the Pokrovsk sector.
Throughout the day, the Russian army maintained constant pressure along the entire front line. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders repelled 233 enemy attacks since the start of the day. In addition to ground assaults, the occupiers actively employed aircraft and drones. According to the General Staff, the enemy carried out 57 airstrikes, dropped 167 guided bombs, deployed 6,282 kamikaze drones, and fired 2,239 rounds at Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.
The General Staff noted: “In total, 233 combat engagements have taken place since the start of this day. The aggressor carried out 57 airstrikes using 167 guided bombs, deployed 6,282 kamikaze drones for these strikes, and carried out 2,239 shelling attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas.” In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian forces repelled some of the attacks; a total of 14 combat engagements took place there, with five more still ongoing as of this evening. Russian troops also carried out 51 shelling attacks, 12 of which were conducted using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky sector, the enemy made 14 attempts to break through the defenses near Staritsa, Novovasylivka, Lyman, and Vovchansk, as well as in the direction of Zybine, Shevyakivka, Hoptivka, and Izbytske. Four battles were still ongoing at the time of this report.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops launched two attacks toward Kurylivka.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian units repelled 10 assaults in the areas of Borova, Stavky, Lyman, Dibrova, Ozerny, and Shyikivka. Three more engagements remained unresolved.
The Sloviansk sector became one of the hottest spots. There, Ukrainian forces repelled 26 Russian attacks in the areas of Kryva Luka, Zakytne, Riznykivka, and in the direction of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Piskunivka. Another battle was still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupiers launched four attacks near Tykhonivka and Fedorivka Druha.
The situation on the Kostiantynivka front remained no less tense. There, the Defense Forces repelled 25 Russian assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Ivanopil, Rusyn Yar, Stepanivka, Toretsk, and in the direction of Vilne. Two combat engagements were still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops carried out 15 attacks. They attempted to advance near Dorozhne, Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Kotlyne, as well as in the direction of Shevchenko, Serhiivka, Bilytske, and Myrne.
According to preliminary estimates by the General Staff, it was precisely in the Pokrovsk direction that Ukrainian forces inflicted significant losses on the enemy. “According to preliminary estimates, 54 occupiers were killed and 11 wounded here today.”
Ukrainian defenders also destroyed a car and a motorcycle, damaged another car and a piece of specialized equipment, destroyed 22 personnel shelters, and destroyed or neutralized 151 drones of various types.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy launched four attacks near Tolstoye and Novoye Zaporizhzhia.
In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 14 attacks near Dobropillia, Vozdvizhivka, Zaliznychne, Tsvitkove, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv sector, the Defense Forces repelled four attacks near Shcherbakiv, Stepove, and Plavni.
In the Dnipro sector, Russian troops did not conduct any offensive operations. The General Staff also reported that no significant changes in the situation were recorded in other sectors of the front. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook.
