There were 209 engagements on the front lines over the past 24 hours — the General Staff reported on the hottest battle zones
Over the past 24 hours, on August 24, 209 combat engagements were recorded along the front line, with the highest number occurring in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors. Russian forces carried out 22 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction and 14 in the Kostyantynivka direction.
The enemy launched two missile strikes using three missiles and carried out 80 airstrikes, dropping 234 guided bombs.
In addition, Russian invaders deployed 9,641 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,203 rounds of shelling, 83 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
Artillery shelling targeted Bachivsk, Korenok, Ryzhivka, Tovstodubove, Ulanove, Volfyne, Budky, Shpil, Rohizne, Kucherivka, Bezsalivka, Vintorivka, Gavrilova Sloboda, Starykove, Atynske, Vovkivka, Malushyne, Seredina Buda, and Yastrubshchyna in Sumy Oblast; as well as Yanzhulivka, Bohdanove, and Klyusi in Chernihiv Oblast. Tovstodubove came under airstrikes.
The Defense Forces’ air force, missile forces, and artillery struck 11 areas where Russian forces were concentrated, five artillery systems, a UAV command post, and another key Russian target.
Eight combat engagements took place in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. The Russian Federation’s army carried out 74 shelling attacks, seven of which involved multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). The enemy also launched one airstrike using two KAB bombs.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Ukrainian units repelled 11 attacks. The invaders attempted to advance toward Kozacha Lopana, Hoptivka, Staritsa, Radkivka, and Zarubinka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched one offensive toward Kurylivka.
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces launched 14 attacks toward Lyman, Novoselivka, Dibrova, and Drobyshove, as well as near Olgivka.
In the Sloviansk direction, Russian forces carried out 10 assaults in the areas of Kryva Luka, Zakitne, Dibrova, Riznykivka, and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka and Mykolaivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian invaders did not carry out any offensive operations.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, 19 enemy attacks were recorded. The Russian army carried out assaults in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Novoselivka, Hruzke, and toward Vilne and Kuchero-Yar.
The enemy carried out 22 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector, attempting to advance toward Novy Donbas, Dobropillya, Vilne, Novooleksandrivka, Serhiivka, Muravka, Novopavlivka, and in the areas of Rodynske, Myrne, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Novomykolaivka.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the Russian army carried out four attacks in the areas of Novoe Zaporizhzhia, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Oleksandrograd, and Krasnohirsk.
On the Huliaipole front, the invaders attacked nine times, attempting to advance in the areas of Rizdvyanka, Rivne, Dolynka, Hirky, Danilivka, and Lisne.
In the Orikhiv sector, the Defense Forces repelled two Russian attempts to advance near Novoyakovlivka.
In the Dnipro sector, the enemy did not conduct any assault operations.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of the Russian Federation forming offensive groups were detected.
