Over the past 24 hours, 236 combat engagements took place along the front lines. Russian troops were most active in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 29 enemy attacks.
Over the past day, Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 80 airstrikes, during which they used 296 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, the occupiers deployed 8,359 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,648 shelling attacks on positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and populated areas.
In the Sumy region, the following towns came under artillery fire from Russian troops: Ulanove, Gavrylivska Sloboda, Korchakivka, Pysarivka, Ivolzhanske, Yastrubshchyna, Korenok, Mala Korchakivka, and Sopych.
Russian troops also carried out airstrikes on the areas of Luzhky, Maryino, and Esmani.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ air force, missile forces, and artillery struck one area where enemy personnel were concentrated.
Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk Directions
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian defenders repelled six enemy assaults.
Russian troops attacked in the areas of Malaya Slobodka, Bila Bereza, Korenka, Rivne, and Kindrativka.
Southern Slobozhansky Direction
Ukrainian units repelled nine enemy attacks.
Russian forces attempted to advance in the areas of Izbytske, Rybalchyne, Lyman, Mala Vovcha, and Ternova.
Kupiansk Sector
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders four times.
Assault operations took place in the areas of Podoly, Kivsharivka, and Novoosynove.
Liman Sector
The occupiers attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses five times.
The enemy attacked in the areas of Dibrova, Drobyshove, and Lyman, as well as in the directions of Nadiya and Shyikivka.
Sloviansk Sector
In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy carried out three assaults.
Russian forces attacked in the Kryva Luka area and in the direction of Piskunivka.
Kramatorsk Sector
Over the past day, Russian troops did not carry out any assaults in the Kramatorsk sector.
Kostiantynivka Sector
Russian troops carried out 22 attacks.
The occupiers carried out assault operations in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Novoselivka, Illinivka, Osykove, Torske, Mykolaipillia, and Novopavlivka.
Pokrovsk Sector
The Pokrovsk sector remained one of the most active on the front line. Ukrainian defenders repelled 29 attacks by Russian forces.
The enemy was active in the areas of Serhiivka, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka.
Russian forces also carried out assaults in the directions of Kuchero-Yar, Sofiivka, Rodynske, Dorozhne, Novyi Donbas, Svitle, Dobropillia, and Vasylivka.
Oleksandrivka Sector
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian troops did not carry out any assault operations over the past 24 hours.
Hulyaypil sector
The occupiers attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders nine times.
Russian forces attempted to advance in the directions of Vozdvizhivka, Rivne, and Charivne.
Orekhiv Sector
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two attempts by Russian troops to advance.
The attacks took place in the areas of Novoandriivka and Stepnogorsk.
Dnipro Sector
On the Dnipro sector, the occupiers carried out one unsuccessful assault in the area of the Antonivsky Bridge.
Since the start of the day on September 24, there have been 185 combat engagements on the front lines. Russian troops launched the most attacks on the Pokrovsk sector—there, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 27 assaults, with two more battles still ongoing as of 10:00 p.m.
On the evening of September 21 and overnight into September 22, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck two key facilities in Russia’s oil refining industry—the “Bashneft-UNPZ” in Bashkortostan and the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery in the Samara Region. Fires were reported at both facilities.
On the night of September 23, the Russian regions of Bashkortostan and the Samara Oblast came under attack by drones. Fires have been reported near the oil refinery in Ufa and on the grounds of the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery in Samara.
