A missile alert has been issued in Yamal for the first time since the war began

In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of the Russian Federation, located more than 2,000 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, a missile alert has been declared for the first time since the start of the full-scale war.

This is reported by Russian propagandists.

Residents of the region received emergency alerts from the Ministry of Emergency Situations advising them to stay indoors, stay away from windows, and remain calm.

Similar warnings were also issued in the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, and Tyumen regions, the Perm Krai, and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.

In light of the announced danger, operations at the airports in Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, and Perm were temporarily suspended. The airports stopped accepting and dispatching flights.

In addition, Tyumen Airport reported delays in the arrival of at least seven flights.

Yamal is one of Russia’s key regions for natural gas and oil production and is located in Western Siberia, a considerable distance from the combat zone.

On the night of May 28, powerful explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol. Following a drone attack, a massive fire broke out in one of the city’s districts.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised long-range operations designed to force the aggressor country to pay for the war it started with its own losses. The head of state approved the relevant plans during a detailed meeting with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov. The president emphasized that if Russia continues to choose military action, the Russian oil industry will continue to shrink.
