Russia killed 16 Ukrainians and wounded another 50 over the past day
Russian troops have been attacking Ukrainian cities and regions with rocket-powered drones almost nonstop for two days now. Over the past 24 hours, 16 people have been killed and another 50 wounded as a result of Russian strikes.
According to him, Russian troops have hardly stopped their attacks over the past two days. The occupiers are using rocket-powered drones to strike various regions of Ukraine, particularly Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The situation in the capital remains particularly tense. In just one day, air raid alerts were sounded 13 times in Kyiv. In total, they lasted more than 14 hours. “Over the past two days, the occupiers have been launching jet-powered drones almost nonstop across regions of Ukraine, particularly in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Over the past day, Russian attacks have claimed the lives of 16 people. Another 50 people were injured. The minister noted that the Russians continue to target civilian infrastructure. Businesses, food warehouses, hypermarkets, postal terminals, and other facilities are under attack.
Vygivsky also discussed the situation in the Kyiv region. There, rescue workers continue to deal with the aftermath of Russian strikes. Police officers are working alongside them, assisting with rescue operations and documenting the consequences of the attacks. “Today, the Russians are continuing their terror campaign. They are striking civilian businesses, food warehouses, hypermarkets, postal terminals, and warehouses where books are stored. Rescue workers are currently continuing their efforts in the Kyiv region, where the situation is the most dire,” the minister said.
According to him, due to repeated threats of strikes, rescue workers and police officers sometimes have to interrupt their work and take cover. The danger also persists for civilians. Vyhovsky reported that one person was killed this morning in the Kyiv region, and there are also injured individuals. These are residents who were near the site where work was continuing following a previous strike.
It is precisely these repeated attacks that pose an additional danger to people near the impact sites. Even after the first strike is over, the threat does not disappear, as Russian troops may attack the same area again. “Due to the repeated threat of strikes, we are forced to halt work,” Vygivskyi emphasized.
The minister once again urged Ukrainians not to ignore air raid alerts. According to him, as soon as an alert is announced, people must proceed to a shelter or other safe location. “The announcement of an air raid alert is the moment when you absolutely must proceed to shelters or safe locations,” he noted.
Vygivsky also urged people not to approach areas where rescue workers and law enforcement officers are operating following Russian strikes. “No urgent matter is worth risking your life for,” the minister emphasized. Russian attacks on Ukraine continue. Rescue workers, police, and other emergency services continue to operate at the sites of the strikes, despite the repeated threat of shelling. The government has approved a bill aimed at strengthening legal protection for foreigners and stateless persons who are defending Ukraine. Once their military contracts end, the government intends to give them more time to regularize their status and count their period of service toward the required length of residence needed to obtain an immigration permit.
