Russian officers in the south have been barred from taking leave due to defense issues — Voloshin

Russian units in the Dnipro and Orikhiv sectors have imposed restrictions on leave for officers as they prepare for possible active combat operations.

This was reported by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.

According to him, in the Dnipro sector, leave has been canceled for officers in units participating in assault operations. The reason was the unsatisfactory state of engineering and fortification structures—the results of an inspection by a commission from the General Staff revealed serious deficiencies in the defense infrastructure.

In the Orikhiv sector, leave for officers has been suspended until at least May 9. According to Ukrainian estimates, Russian troops are expected to intensify combat operations during this period.

Additionally, according to intelligence reports, in the Dnipro sector, the enemy has received over 1,500 FPV drones to support assault units, particularly those operating on the islands.

The Defense Forces note that they are already observing an increase in the intensity of attacks—the number of assaults in certain areas has risen from several dozen to nearly 150.

As a reminder, the occupiers are shelling Vovchansk to capture the city and its surroundings, according to the "Forpost" brigade.

Ukrainian troops recently advanced in the Donetsk region. This refers to the area between Kostiantynivka and Druzhkivka, where the Defense Forces were able to improve their positions.
