In the Zhytomyr region, rescue workers have completed their operations following the Russian shelling that took place on September 5. Units of the State Emergency Service worked around the clock at the scene, clearing away damaged structures and extinguishing the fire.

They had to dismantle damaged structures and deal with the aftermath of the fire. “Work at the scene continued nonstop—both day and night,” the State Emergency Service reported.
Specialists used specialized equipment to carry out the work. In particular, rescue workers dismantled and cut up metal structures that had been damaged by the shelling. In addition, State Emergency Service units worked to extinguish the fire that broke out following the Russian attack.
Rescuers were not the only ones involved in the cleanup efforts. Representatives of other emergency services and volunteers from the Rapid Response Unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society also worked at the scene. In total, the State Emergency Service deployed 64 personnel and 18 pieces of equipment.
Specialists remained on site until all necessary emergency response work was completed. Once the cleanup from the shelling was finished, the units involved in the operation left the area. Russian troops regularly attack Ukrainian regions with missiles and drones. Such strikes damage buildings and infrastructure and pose an additional danger to people even after the attack itself has ended.
That is why rescue workers often have to continue working for many hours after the shelling. They clear debris, extinguish fires, remove hazardous structures, and help secure the scene. This time, operations in the Zhytomyr region also continued around the clock. After deploying 64 rescue workers and 18 pieces of equipment, the consequences of the Russian shelling were fully mitigated. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Russian troops struck a residential building in Kherson with a guided aerial bomb. Three people were injured in the attack—an 84-year-old man, a 75-year-old woman, and a 43-year-old man. All were taken to the hospital.
Russian drones caused major fires in the Synelnykivskyi district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. A food warehouse and a logistics company building caught fire, and rescue workers had to work on site all night. The fire was successfully extinguished.
Over the past day, Russian troops engaged in combat with the Ukrainian Defense Forces 245 times. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction—43; another 17 assaults took place in the Kostiantynivka direction, and nine each in the Pivdenno-Slobozhansky and Kupiansky directions.
Over the past day, the Russian army lost another 1,390 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. The Ukrainian General Staff also reports the destruction of three multiple-launch rocket systems, one air defense system, and over 1,400 drones.
