Navalny's face was used to recruit Russian contract soldiers
In Russia, an image generated by artificial intelligence—which bears a resemblance to opposition politician Alexei Navalny—was used to advertise contract military service.
According to journalists, the image was posted on the website of a project aimed at recruiting contract soldiers. Potential candidates are promised anonymity, and the site notes that even people with debts or criminal records can sign a contract.
In addition, Russia offers a reward for recruiting new contract soldiers—ranging from approximately $1,300 to $7,700, depending on the region and the terms of the program.
