The occupiers are advancing toward Kostiantynivka and are attempting to cut off supply lines
The situation around Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast has deteriorated sharply, as Russian troops have advanced toward the outskirts of the city from several directions simultaneously and are attempting to gradually put pressure on Ukrainian defenses. According to analysts, the enemy is attempting to disrupt logistics and create conditions for isolating the city.
In the Donetsk region around Kostiantynivka, the combat situation continues to escalate, as Russian units—according to estimates by analytical projects, including DeepState— have approached the city’s outskirts from several directions at once and are gradually expanding their zone of influence, attempting to find weak spots in the defenses and exploit them to advance with small infantry groups. The enemy is not conducting large-scale frontal assaults but is instead employing a more drawn-out tactic of constant pressure, which involves penetrating deep into positions and consolidating control in specific areas.
According to analysts, Russian troop activity has been observed from the east through the Novodmytrivka area, as well as in the Berestok and Illinivka areas, where the enemy is attempting to establish bridgeheads for further operations. Such tactics, as noted, have already been used in other sectors of the front, particularly during the battles for Pokrovsk, when the main emphasis was placed not on a rapid breakthrough but on the gradual attrition of the city’s defenses.

Of particular concern are attempts by Russian forces to advance to the northern outskirts of Kostiantynivka, as if they manage to consolidate their positions along these lines, there is a risk of cutting off the logistical routes that supply Ukrainian units in the central and southern districts of the city. Analysts emphasize that even the selective blocking of key roads or the active use of drones to target transportation routes could significantly complicate the defense.
It is also noted that the Russian army continues to intensively shell Kostiantynivka itself, causing damage to civilian infrastructure and putting additional pressure on military logistics. At the same time, attempts to influence public opinion are being observed in the information sphere through the dissemination of videos created using artificial intelligence, which are intended to create the illusion of changes on the front lines.
Experts call Kostiantynivka one of the key defense hubs in the Donetsk region, as its potential loss could shift the balance of power across the entire front and create additional risks for cities such as Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, and Sloviansk, which are part of a large metropolitan area and remain important logistical hubs for Ukraine’s defense. This is reported by the analytical project DeepState.
