Russia says it is preparing massive strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector
Russia, as an aggressor state, has said it is preparing massive strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure facilities. According to Politico Europe, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed in a Telegram post that its forces had begun preparations for such attacks.
The aggressor state’s ministry described the possible strikes as a response to Ukraine’s attacks on Russian energy infrastructure. Earlier, Ukraine’s Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal told Politico that Vladimir Putin seeks to destroy Ukraine’s energy system, while Kyiv will strengthen the resilience of energy and other infrastructure to avoid a repeat of winter power outages.
Attack on a warehouse near Kyiv
The Russian Ministry of Defense also claimed coordinated strikes on an industrial facility in Kyiv. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, 38 people were killed, 20 were injured, and four are considered missing following Russia’s Friday attack on a warehouse in Mila near Kyiv.

After the strike, fires broke out at the warehouse, damaging at least 50 residential buildings. Zelenskyy also said that over the course of the week, Russia launched nearly 2,000 attack drones, more than 1,600 aerial bombs, and 31 missiles of various types at Ukraine.
Information about a possible offensive
Ukrainian officials also reported that, according to intelligence data, Russia may be preparing a new ground attack on Kyiv. Deputy Head of the Office of the President Pavlo Palisa told journalists that the Russian military command had received instructions from the Kremlin’s political leadership to plan and prepare attacks on Kyiv and Chernihiv.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Saturday that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has his own assessment of the situation in the region and on the Ukrainian-Russian front. Tusk stressed that Russia’s escalation is continuing and called for stronger air defense support for Ukraine.
