The occupiers have begun using “Shaheds” as carriers for FPV drones
Russian forces have modernised Iranian-made “Shahed”-type unmanned aerial vehicles, turning them into remote platforms for transporting strike FPV drones.
The new threat on the front line was officially reported by radio technology specialist and adviser to Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Serhii Beskrestnov, callsign “Flash”.
According to the expert, the military has already obtained the first visual evidence of this tactic being used in combat conditions.
Analysis showed that a single “Shahed” can carry at least two FPV drones, which can detach to attack targets.
Previously, specialists had recorded the appearance of specific factory mounts on Russian unmanned drones of the “Molniya” and “Gerbera” types.
“Today I have the first video confirmation of FPV transport on a Shahed. I already know that a Shahed carries two FPVs,” Serhii Beskrestnov said in his address.
Using large unmanned drones as “motherships” significantly increases the operational range of smaller strike drones.
This creates additional risks for Ukrainian units, as kamikaze drones may appear at a considerable distance from the line of contact.
