The occupiers sentenced a Berdyansk resident to 25 years in prison
The Russian Federation’s occupying Southern District Military Court sentenced Serhiy Moskalenko, a resident of the temporarily occupied city of Berdiansk, to 25 years in prison.
The Russian side accuses him of allegedly plotting an assassination attempt against a representative of the “United Russia” party and employees of the occupying Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the Russian investigation, the man allegedly collaborated with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, stored explosives, monitored representatives of the occupying authorities, and planned a terrorist attack. On July 22, 2024, he was detained by Russian security forces.
The court sentenced Moskalenko to 25 years in prison: he must serve the first five years in prison and the remaining 20 in a maximum-security penal colony. He was also fined 800,000 rubles.
It is impossible to independently verify the claims of the Russian investigation under the conditions of occupation.
