The occupiers launched a massive attack on four districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region; 16 people were wounded
Throughout the day on May 22, 2026, Russian occupation forces carried out nearly 40 targeted attacks on civilian and critical infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
This was reported by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
The enemy extensively used heavy artillery and attack drones in these strikes. As a result of the shelling, a large number of civilian casualties and significant destruction were recorded in four districts of the region.
The most critical situation and the most extensive destruction were recorded in the Nikopol district. Nikopol itself, as well as the communities of Marganetsk, Pokrovsk, Mirivsk, and Chervonohryhorivsk, came under heavy fire from the Russian army. In total, 16 local residents sustained injuries of varying severity in the district. Five of the injured were hospitalized, including a 79-year-old woman who is currently in critical condition. Thirteen people were wounded as a result of a single attack on Marganets alone. In the district’s settlements, a local college building, several five-story residential buildings, a shopping and entertainment center (SEC), an administrative building, public infrastructure facilities, and private vehicles were significantly damaged.
Other areas of the Dnipropetrovsk region also suffered strikes and destruction:
Synelnykivsky District: The occupiers shelled the territory of the Pokrovska community. The strikes triggered large-scale fires—the flames completely destroyed farm buildings and a civilian vehicle.
Kryvyi Rih District: In the town of Apostolove, an enemy shell struck a civilian facility—a local gas station (AZS) sustained significant damage and destruction.
Kam'yanskyi District: The Bozhidarivska community came under attack, where Russian drones damaged civilian infrastructure.
Units of the State Emergency Service (SES), emergency medical teams, and law enforcement officers continue to work at all sites of strikes and fires, documenting the consequences of yet another war crime committed by the Russian Federation against the civilian population of Ukraine.
As a reminder, the Russian Federation attacked a substation in the Kramatorsk district with an FPV drone.
In the Zolochiv community of the Kharkiv region, a Russian drone attacked the Hryhorii Skovoroda National Literary and Memorial Museum.
